In jazz, often there is some level of improvisation on the melody, which is what I'm playing here. Every musician plays it a little differently.

This is my 1959 Musicmaster, but the Duo Sonics are great, too!

@@leadcatpress Wow, that's is short scale, I have small hands, struggle with a Tele and I'm trying to convince myself playing a shorter scale guitar is still respectable.

They are 9s, round wound. I have some nerve issues in my left arm, so I am taking things easy on this guitar. I'm really pleased to know you thought they were flatwound; that means I'm doing my work. :)

@@leadcatpress yes sure! When I was teenager at my music high shool I played Satin Doll also on Guitar with our Shool Jazz Band.... ( guitar, keys, bass, drums, 2x sax) 🙂 I also like Bag's groove :)

It's just a loop of a minor 2-5-1 progression, which is a common progression in latin jazz. Good ear!!!

Yeah, that sitar sound is what I'm trying to avoid... :( I'm back on my little fake Tele and I hope to find a way to make it work; I just dig the tone on it so much more than on my other guitars right now.
